What are QR Codes?
QR codes are Quick Response codes.
These codes are formed by an array of squares that are specifically coded with information. The QR code was originally developed in 1994 by a Japanese company and intended primarily for the automobile industry. Since then, it has been standardized and integrated into a wide range of uses.
In essence, QR codes have the ability to store data, similar to barcodes. However, QR codes are much more advanced than the traditional barcodes and can store up to 350 times more information. Plus, they are scannable in any direction and easily scanned with a smartphone!
The use of QR codes has exploded in the past few years. They are excellent tools for inventory, marketing, & advertising. Use QR codes to relay your webpage URL, blog post, or contact details. Depending on what action you want from your audience will dictate what information your QR code sticker should relay.
Custom QR code stickers are an innovative and modern solution for smarter marketing! Plus, it’s a perfectly contactless solution for sharing information with your customers.

Many phones have built-in QR Scanners in their photo application. So, if your customers have a Samsung, Apple, or Motorola phone you’re in luck! For those who don’t, don’t worry. There are many free applications that are easy to install and offer the same scanning capability.

Product Questions and Answers
Here’s an example of some questions and and answers for a product.
Can I add more than just the QR code?
Yes! We advise including a call to action alongside your QR code to encourage customers to engage. Including information alluding to where the QR code leads also helps to draw interest and trust.
It is also wise to keep your logo nearby to align your brand with the QR code. This helps build brand loyalty and awareness!
We have seen customers use QR codes to engage customers at trade shows and in experiential marketing campaigns. Plus, QR codes provide a hands-free, contact-less way to interact with passers-by. All they need is their phone!
What are some tips to keep in mind when designing a custom QR code sticker?
Our basic recommendations include:
- Add a call to action
- Frame it to showcase
- Put your logo at the center and use brand colors
- Determine whether a static or dynamic QR code is right for you
- Test before you print
Feel free to reach out to a member of our team directly if you would like assistance in creating your QR code.
Can I reuse my custom QR code sticker?
No. Each individual sticker is easy to remove, however they are not reusable or repositionable. Once placed, you cannot remove the QR code sticker and reuse it in a different place or on a different surface.
What surfaces can I apply it to?
Any smooth, non porous surface is a good fit for this type of adhesive vinyl. It is able to be used either indoors or out.
You can apply to surfaces such as vehicle windows (cars, trucks and boats), tinted windows, painted walls (particularly painted with oil paint), metal, glass, plastic, and other non-porous materials. You can also stick it on product packaging.
Do not use on untreated wood, brick, cinderblock, concrete, most wallpaper, paneling or heavily textured surfaces.
We do not recommend applying the decal to recently painted surfaces or wet paint.
How do I remove it?
QR code stickers can simply be peeled off. The more recently they’ve been applied, the easier it will be to remove.
Often a plastic “razor blade” or thin plastic hand tool is used to help lift up and scrape off the decal without damaging the underlying surface.
For really old stickers that have become old and brittle, using a heat gun can help ease the process. The heat will warm the underlying adhesive and make it easier to remove the sticker.
