Set-Up your Custom Media Backdrop

The standard frame we include is a super easy to set-up fabric pop-up stand.

Lightweight, sturdy, and easy to collapse, this frame is perfect for on the go displays.

Instructions for setting up your display:

  1. Remove frame from the carrying case.
  2. Pull the frame apart gently, to fully expand.
  3. Make sure the velcro strips are facing up.
  4. Push together each of the locks to secure and connect the frame.
  5. Take your custom backdrop fabric and begin to attach it to the frame beginning from a corner edge.
  6. Work your way around the frame, continuing to attach the printed fabric to the velcro and pulling it taut to ensure it remains smooth.
  7. Once fully attached, give a final check to the appearance. If you see wrinkles or sags, detach the fabric, pull to increase tautness, then re-velcro.

Caring for Your Custom Media Backdrops

Proper cleaning and care will help extend longevity and appearance of your backdrop.

There are a few options for cleaning:

  • Spot Cleaning: Use mild soap and cold water. Test first on a small area to ensure that the integrity of the material is not compromised.
  • Machine Washing: Only use the most gentle cycle and cold water with mild soap. DO NOT PUT IN DRYER. Lay flat or hang to dry.
  • Dry Cleaning: You can always take your backdrop to the dry cleaner for professional cleaning.

Never iron your backdrop or put it in the dryer.

When storing your backdrop, make sure it is completely dry. Then fold it carefully and place in a plastic back and keep in a climate controlled environment.

Should I be worried about the glare from camera flashes?

No, not at all. Our custom media backdrops have a natural fabric surface. There is no glare. We use sublimation printing to also ensure there is no surface ink-sheen.

I need a media backdrop for a press conference, what style should I use?

Often press conference backdrops use “step and repeat” styles, however, we recommend using whichever design you feel best reflects your brand. Feel free to reach out to us directly to see what is the best option for you. Maybe a photo-rich backdrop or large logo is a better fit.

What is step and repeat?

Step and repeat is a style often used to showcase brands or sponsors. You will often see it behind stars on the red carpet. It displays one or more logos repeated in a “step” or diagonal pattern, often alternating each logo.

Is there a difference between a media wall and a media backdrop?

Generally a media backdrop is smaller and easily set up and taken down. Sometimes people will call media backdrops, media walls by mistake.

A media wall, however, is more commonly used for high-end events or large conferences and typically much bigger. We are happy to work with you if a media wall is what you are looking for. My company was hosting a conference and we didn’t have a lot of time to get our media backdrops designed, made, and shipped.
